Sorry for the silence. I had to do Friday morning's work on Thursday night after the game since we were closing on a getaway in Garrison at 10 a.m.. Then we spent the weekend there without an Internet connection. Or TV. Or newspapers. Or "kids." I'm a new man. Forget the fact that we're on a peaceful lake, the joint meets my main criteria for a country home: it's only 45 minutes from Rumbrook Field.
Speaking of which, we have a game there tomorrow at 8:15 and I have little to no idea who's available, except that Robert is away and Jason has, alas, fractured a bone or two in his foot. Against his vehement objections, we are putting him on the DL to protect the next 40 years of his career in this league. Also let me know about your availability for the Monday, 6/7, game that starts at 6:30. Thanks.
As far as last week goes, all I can remember is that Mark was developing a metaphysical theory about the outcome, Rick was developing agita, Lary made a great scoop as a late-inning defensive replacement at first and Kevin patrolled left center like an antelope on steroids. The scorebook says we lost, 7-5, thanks to their 6-run third.
One last piece of business: At the cusp of the final-roster-deadline last week, Wayne Coffey asked to be removed for the year due to his extensive travel commitments. Steve Horelick, having reach the magic five/five, was immediately signed to a long-term deal to take his place on the reserve roster.
